This item is one of favorite ingredients for many of my recipes requiring peanut sauce. It is very simple to use. You just have to add water and mix well. This item can be purchased at Asian grocery stores but not the supermarkets like A&P, Kroger, Stop & Shop, etc. just to name a few.
If you are unable to get them. Below is my recipe for Peanut Sauce for Gado Gado.

Ingredients:
1/4 cup crunchy peanut butter
1/3 cup creamy peanut butter
1/4 cup kecap manis (sweet soy sauce)
1 tbsp peanut oil
1 small onion, very finely chopped
1 tablespoon ground coriander
1 teaspoon chili sauce/sambal olek
1/3 coconut cream
1/2 teaspoon grated palm sugar or soft brown sugar
1/2 tablespoon lemon juice
2 tablespoons water

Method:
Heat the oil in a frying pan over medium heat and cook the onion for 3-5 minutes or until golden brown. Add the two types of peanut butter, kecap manis, coriander powder, sambal olek, water and coconut cream. Reduce the heat and simmer for 5 mins. Stir in the palm sugar and lemon juice, stirring until dissolved.
