Chickpeas Hummus

My husband loves any kinds of bean and garbanzo beans is one of his favorites. Well, he loves it cooked in any styles whether it is hot and spicy or simply plain. This dish is very easy to make and also a good source of nutrients. Also, a good dish to serve as an snack or appetizer.



3 cups Garbanzo beans (Chickpeas), drained

3 clove garlic, peeled and crushed

¾ cup Tahini (Sesame seed paste)

1½ tablespoons cumin powder

¼ teaspoon sweet paprika powder

1 lemon, juiced

Salt to taste

¼ cup extra virgin olive oil



½ tomato, diced

½ red onion, diced

Chopped cilantro

¼ lemon, juiced

Salt to taste

Place all the garnish ingredients in a small bowl and mix well. Set aside.



In a food processor with garbanzo beans (chickpeas), garlic, Tahini (sesame seed paste), cumin powder, sweet paprika, salt, olive oil and lemon juice and pulse into a smooth paste.

Scoop into a container, bowl or fresh fruit/vegetable bowl and top it with garnish mixture. Serve with cut vegetables, toasted pita/fresh pita, crackers, French baguette and or just simply plain.
