I love to serve this Indonesian sauce with most of my fried chicken, raw vegetables salad, fried seafood and tofu dish. Sometimes I used it in my stir-fry dish like fried rice, fried noodles and curries. Give it a try and you will like it.
I brought this Instant Sambal Belacan Powder from a trip to New York City Chinatown. I did used this once for my Fried sambal belacan tilapia recipe. Surprising it turned out to be a great success. The ingredients are basically consisted of dried chili powder, roasted belacan, shallots, salt and sugar. Not many people especially the Westerners do not like the smell of roasted belacan. In Malaysian, Indonesian and Singapore uses this in their food cuisines. These are available at any well-stock Asian Grocery Stores.
