It is also known as fuzzy squash, Mao Gua, Hairy Cucumber, Tsit Gua and just to name a few. Mo Qua is a squash of Chinese origin. It is related to the winter melon. The Mo Qua looks quite like the zucchini with green colored skin and covered with white fuzzy hairs. Except the zucchini has a lighter color skin outside and the inside is with a light ivory color, more firm and very mild in flavor. In Asian Cuisine, the Mo Qua Squash is used in many dishes such as stir-fries, soups, braised, steamed and boiled. To use the Mo Qua you need to peel the skins off before using.
