This is a very popular and easy to make fruit salad. If you do not want it spicy, simply omit the chilies. Well, this is one of our favorite and at least once a week I will prepare this. Sometime you might forget to share this recipe because you make them too often and you think that you already posted this recipe but I was wrong.

Recently I when thorough all my posting and found that I have not share this yet. It came at the right time as you can use this dish to serve your families, relatives and friend over Chinese New Year celebrations. Remember serving certain dish with a good Chinese food symbolism like “Pomelo (柚子; yòuzi)” dish is recommended as it brings abundance, prosperity, having children, good health and family unity to the family. So here it is…

5 cups Pomelo/Grapefruit flesh, break into small segments

½ cups coarsely chopped cilantro

2 tablespoons coarsely chopped roasted peanuts

½ pound cooked small shrimp, shelled and deveined

1 tablespoon nuoc cham dipping sauce

Nuoc Cham Dipping Sauce:

1½ tablespoons nuoc mam

3 clove garlic, peeled and finely minced

3 fresh red finger chili or bird’s eye chili, coarsely chopped

1 teaspoon raw sugar

¼ cup concentrated lime juice

In a mixing bowl add pomelo/grapefruit flesh, cooked shrimps, coarse chopped cilantro and nuoc cham and stir gently to combine well.

Transfer to a serving platter and topped with roasted peanuts.
