Thai-Style Canned Tuna Salad (Yum Pla Tona)

This is one of the easiest recipes to prepare a fish dish. Simply open a can of yellow fin tuna with some ingredients and you will come up with a sumptuous salad. It is indeed a healthy dish.

 

 

Ingredients:

3 cans canned yellow-fin tuna in olive oil or water, removed from can and drained

¾ cup chopped shallots

10-12 small birdeye’s chili (Thai chilies) or green finger chilies, stem removed and finely chopped

¼ cup chopped cilantro

1 tablespoon Thai fish sauce or 1/8 teaspoon fine salt

4½ tablespoons fresh/bottled lime juice

 

Method:

Place the tuna meat into a mixing bowl and lightly flake, add chopped shallots, chopped chilies, chopped cilantro, fish sauce and lime juice. Toss lightly to combine well.

Serve the tuna mixture with Iceberg lettuce/Boston Leaf.
